Detective Tuell first joined the BPD in October 2021 as a Patrol Officer and shortly after was promoted to the Criminal Investigation Division Detective in April 2022 where she currently serves. Throughout her duration here at Bullard PD, she has served as a Patrol Officer and Mental Health Officer.
Detective Tuell began her Law Enforcement career in April 2015 with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office as a Jailer and after completing her Jailer Certification, she was promoted to Sergeant in the Jail Division. In June 2017 while still employed with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Detective Tuell attended and graduated from the East Texas Police Academy. A short time later, she began serving the Troup Police Department in August 2017 as a Reserve Patrol Officer. In August 2018, she joined the Troup Police Department full-time and during her tenure with Troup PD, Detective Tuell served as a School Resource Officer, Patrol Officer, and a Mental Health Officer.
During her almost eight years in Law Enforcement, Detective Judith Tuell has also earned an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice and received a Certificate of Proficiency in the Criminal Justice from Tyler Junior College and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice at Texas A&M Commerce. She holds an Intermediate Peace Officer License, Certified Mental Health Peace Officer, and is a School Based Law Enforcement Officer. In 2019, during her time with the Troup Police Department, Detective Tuell was recognized as the Officer of the Year and in May 2020 was awarded the Life Saving Award. Since joining the Bullard Police Department, Judith Tuell has earned two of the most prestigious awards given at the Bullard Police Department’s Annual Awards Banquet - the Life Saving Award and the Chief’s Award.
She is involved in the planning of many events hosted by the Bullard PD including Coffee with a Cop, Blue Santa, Coptoberfest, and the National Night Out event. We are very grateful to have Detective Judith Tuell serving as the City of Bullard’s Criminal Investigation Division Detective!
