Keep Bullard Better

This is also a great thing for those who have just moved in and a quick reminder for those tenured Bullard residents. Trash pickup is on Fridays for the City of Bullard. Please have your polycarts out by the curb BEFORE 7 am on Fridays. This will ensure your cart to be emptied. Please make sure all trash is inside the polycarts. As a reminder, here is a list of items that are not accepted at the landfills or in your trash cans:

  • Whole tires
  • Appliances with refrigerant (Freon), air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, still in appliance.
  • Car/truck/farm/heavy equipment batteries.
  • Oil
  • Liquids
  • Hazardous material
  • PCB’s
  • Out of State material

As a City of Bullard resident, your water bill each month is a pass for one free trip to the Jacksonville landfill. We also have our bulk drop offs once a quarter so be sure to follow us on Facebook, and sign up for Civic Ready to stay in the know with what is happening in the community. You may notice that trash services have went up slightly in cost on your November water bills, as well as a new admin fee, that council approved on September 25, 2017 to go into effect on October 1, 2017. Republic services had a small 3.3% increase on their rates, so we in turn, took that 3.3% increase and applied it to all trash services in the City of Bullard. An administrative fee was originally approved and added into the City Ordinances in 1999 for the billing and collection of garbage rates but has never been charged. Council approved the administrative fee to be set at $.90.

We asked Sonja Richey, our Director of Finance, how this rate increase will affect and impact our utility billing department and budget, she said "It has been three years since we have increased the garbage rates. Our garbage services provider increased their rates, so it is necessary for the City to increase our rates to keep from having a negative impact on our budget."

Republic Services has provided excellent customer service to our city, and we are so excited to see our customers well taken care of and satisfied. They have been a great partner to our City and continue to support many events thoughout the year. If you have any questions concerning billing, please call us at 903-894-7223 or email info@bullardtexas.net.
